I liked the first book well enough and was looking forward to this one but it fell a bit short for me and some of the dialogue was very silly and not fitting for the serious subject matter. What Cyn endures at the hands of her EX was horrific and Rigid was the perfect man to help her heal and get revenge but there were some issues for me (bikers watching SOA and playing silly games while eating candy bar themed cookie bars) that seemed unrealistic and took away from what could have been a great story.
It was a fast and easy read and I was glad I got it on sale but not sure I will get the next book in the series.

Finding Cyn Devil Knights Series Book 2 edition by Winter Travers Mary Meredith Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I was a bit disappointed with this book as with the first one (Loving Lo) I just couldn't put it down. My disappointment had nothing to do with the actual story, characters or writing because all of that was great, it was because this book had the same premise as the first book but with different characters. Hot sexy biker gets with broken wounded woman who thinks she's fat, ugly and unlovable and the throughout the entire story he spends his time and energy on trying to make her feel otherwise. Even the way Rigid spoke to Cyn was the same way that King (Lo) spoke to Meg, and there was even a kitchen scene that was almost identical between the two books but with Cyn she dropped a spatula. It was just a bummer but that being said good book and characters I just wish that it didn't feel that this book followed an outline of the first book.
The first time I started reading this book, I wasn't in the mood for an MC story I suppose because it wouldn't hold my interest and I quit at about 25%. Winter Travers has released a couple of more books in this series since then and I decided to start over again with Loving Lo and read straight through. I'm glad I did.
My main complaint in book one was Meg's lack of self-esteem and her whiny attitude about that dragged on and on through nearly the whole book. That isn't present in Cyn's story. She too is a BBW but she is confident and comfortable in her skin. She just has a crappy ex-fiancé to deal with and a hot Sgt at Arms for the MC to accept into her life after a devastating attack.
There is a HFN ending for Rigid and Cyn with a cliffhanger leading into a novella about Gravel, the oldest brother, and Lo's mother, Ethel. This was an improvement from book one which is what a reader hopes to see in an author's writing over time. I am looking forward to continuing the series.
Cyn Meyers is a broken woman after one tragic night with a man she thought was her forever. Cyn had always been the type of woman who stood on her own two feet. She liked taking care of herself. She had a special sparkle in her eyes. Her only weakness was believing when people would put her down because of her curves. Not everyone appreciated her generous curves.
Now the sparkle in her eyes was gone and she could feel nothing and she was falling apart in front of her friends.
Rigid is the Sgt. at Arms for the Devil's Knights Motorcycle Club. He loved the club life. The thought of settling down terrified him. The night they found Cyn broken and needing help he had an urge to protect her and it was consuming him. He couldn't leave her. The need for vengeance was trying to take over. He needed to fix Cyn and bring back that sparkle.
Finding Cyn was such a refreshing book. The witty banter between Cyn, Rigid, Meg and King had me cracking up. Also the way Winter Travers implemented the characters from Loving Lo into Finding Cyn was genius. It was about Cyn and Rigid but the other characters were not just blended into the back ground. Loved that. The Devil's Knight MC also has a strong place in this storyline. Great read. Great job Winter Travers and can't wait for the next one.
I received an ARC for a honest review....so here goes my attempt at making her book sound fabulous, not that she needs any help )!
This is the second book in the Devil's Knights Series and so far the best one. Don't get me wrong Loving LO was a freaking fantastic book as well. Finding Cyn was just so so much more. I loved the way Rigid was with Cyn. The chemistry between them is fantastic. Every time she tried to guess his name, I busted out laughing, the names that came out of her mouth-hilarious (sorry I don't give spoilers, I don't like them). How he takes care of her, even when she tries to push him away. I loved how Winter keeps going with the story line from Loving Lo and continues to bring Lo (King), Meg, Lo's Mom Ethel and the rest of the gang...I love love his Mom she is hilarious. Again another Freaking fantastic read. Go and buy this book tomorrow (August 1, 2015) you will not regret it, nor will you be disappointed. The way it is written you would never guess its only her second book. I look forward to many more of Winter Travers books. She is definitely a one click for anything she writes. Once again another 5 star read, if would let me, I would give this book 10 stars (this book is that GREAT)!!!
This series is wonderful! Now come on Gravel and Ethel's story... Thanks Winter once again for giving me a FREAKING FANTASTIC BOOK!!!!
