This is another story of a dark broken hero and a heroine who aren’t supposed to be together.I bought this book without reading the description. It’s for younger readers, with it set in a college atmosphere. I kept reading thinking the flash back would come back to the present, which would be many years later. That wasn’t the case.
Lincoln has issues and a dark past, which to me isn’t so dark considering what can be classified as a dark past for many. He was in college with an opportunity to excel, many others don’t have that chance.
The heroine is constantly told Lincoln isn’t any good for her. He’s dark and brooding.
Needless to say, the story was annoying. The heroine is rich with with an overbearing family that has a set standard for her.
In the end high school antics occur any time Lincoln sees someone wanting the heroine. He kisses her or does something childish.
In the end there is a threat to them not being together yet again and Lincoln acts and then there’s ultimately a HEA.
I one-clicked and finally read this book and my hesitation was for a reason.
Not my cup of tea.

The what if’s in life can wrap themselves around you and steal your breath. They can weigh you down and drown you before you even have the chance to truly live. This is the story of those ‘if’s’. Firstly, I absolutely love the title of this book. It is amazing (as is that cover!) This story had me in the first chapter. My heart was all twisted in the best way, and I was already so invested in Em and Lincoln’s story. The why’s, the how’s, and the what if’s. I can’t imagine it told better than how this author did it. This story had heart, all of the emotions, steam, and SO much passion. I am a sucker for the broken bad boy, and Lincoln fits this bill to the T. I hope you take a chance on this wonderful story. It is Randi Cooley Wilson’s best work yet.
I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would. Another author I follow on FB posted a link for this book. The cover looked interesting and the author who posted writes supernatural stuff, so I assumed this was as well.
Well, it's not. But that's ok. It's a really good read. A book hasn't made me cry in a long time and this one did.
*** Potential Spoilers***
I thought Lincoln's "past" was a little lame. My response was "that's it?".
THE AIRPORT SCENE!! - omg.... I cried!
I enjoyed this book for the most part. Started off really well. There is just something that didn't make this a 5 star read for me. From the start you think this will be a really emotional story that will give you a hangover. Sorry this didn't do that for me. I won't spoil the story so I will just say not bad, but not my favorite.
One word- Captivating...
I don’t know if there is a better word for this book. The story that is told is heartbreaking and intoxicating. It takes your heart to the highest highs and the lowest lows. It will break you down and build you back up within a page. Its fun and witty and REAL! I LOVED this book so much I think I’ll read it a few times.
OMG I absolutely loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Emerson and Lincoln's relationship will take you on an emotional roller coaster. There where times when I wanted to reach into this book and just shake some sense into both of them. I was on the edge of my seat wondering if they were ever going to pull it together and stop running away from each other and hurting each other. I despise Emerson's parents for making her leave Lincoln. I am so glad that they finally got it together and admitted there feelings for each other. I don't think I could of handled it if they hadn't ended up together after everything they went through to finally make it back to each other. Another wonderful and beautiful story from Randi Cooley Wilson.
This was a great story! What I loved most was that there were no dull moments - every page is filled with active story time, and that is always pleasant. I also really loved Lincoln and Em. The author does a really good job making you feel something with these two characters, and their story is just really really cute.
Okay, now to the parts that were a bit lacking (none of which, I would argue, should dissuade you from reading the book). There were quite a few eye-roll moments in this book. By this I mean, some of the dialogue was just a little too cheesy and cliche for me. Now, don't get me wrong, I always love a slight dose of adorable quotables, and higlight-ables, if you will, but I would argue that there is a limit to those. She passed it.
Also, the love is a bit rushed. Although it is not really explicit, it has a love-at-first-sight kind of feel. I literally flipped back a few pages at one point because I was so sure I was missing something. All of a sudden, Lincoln was proclaiming things, and I was like, "Wait, I must have missed something." Turns out, I didn't.
Another thing, Em does have the tendency to be a little annoying. Her mind is quite repetitive, and let me tell you, almost everything is "crazy unnerving." Luckily, there is quite a bit of dialogue so you are not in her mind for too long, but when you are, you are going around in circles.
Last thing, I think there is meant to be depth to these characters, but I did not feel that. You feel their love, and their chemistry, and all the great things when they are together. Them as solo characters though, I did not feel. There was even one point when they were going tit for tat about who had it worse in their childhood, and it was really the most ridiculous thing. I should not have to be convinced of that, I should feel that. It just made both of them feel very surface-level to me.
That being said, it really is an enjoyable read. It is pretty quick, and there is quite a bit of action. The story line has a few little plot twists, and their love is adorable. I would certainly recommend.
